The Rules
G’day
It is simply ripper to know that you and your mob are heading Down Under for dinner with us
Here’s a few pointers that might help ya’s
Scrubby Creek Station is not a restaurant it is our home, So:
- It is a working farm, dogs, horses, and mud come along with the prize
- Don’t wear your Sunday best, but dress like you are out visiting
- We are happy to show you around the place, but it comes with all the usual pitfalls of barbed wire, junk where it shouldn’t be, and the odd snake or two (they catch the mice, so we like them)
- Depending on the size of your reservation, you may be eating (family style) with people you do not know. Tee and Laurence will be joining you
- Aussies swear a lot – get used to it!
The meal
- Dinner is served in the kitchen
- You will have a choice of a few food items, but it is NOT an a la carte menu
- standard is 4 courses with 4 matching wines
- Is served family-style (platters are to be shared), so if someone has food allergies let us know, we may not be able to fix things special for them, but we can tell them what to avoid
- There will be some authentic Aussie dishes and bunches of creations based on the theme
- There are wine pairings – so please have a designated driver. I’m still looking for Aussie beer, but can’t find any yet
The evening
- Is meant to be fun. Nothing should be taken seriously – not even the cook’s accent, or Tee’s attempt at jokes
- We have a few games and Aussie trivia stuff to play with
In short – we will try and make this a beauty bottler night, so no whingers allowed, and we will see ya there then
- Get prepared for the evening by learning a few words of 'Strayan - https://www.australiaday.com.au/fun-activities/browse-the-aussie-slang-dictionary/
- It is a adult environment, the Station is not a kid-friendly setup – so no kids under 15
- Drinks are included – both soft and wine. Drinks are limited, and we reserve the right to cut people off if needed
- No doggie bags – the left overs are for our dogs
